Meerkats friend playing
The meerkat lives in a clan of 20 to 30 individuals, gathered around a dominant couple. These animals are known for their developed social organisation: while some individuals hunt, others stand guard. Standing on their hind legs, these sentries sound the alarm as soon as a predator (snake, raptor, jackal ...) is spotted.
The whole group participates in the breeding of young people, who are born underground after 11 weeks of gestation
